That UK/US grading system makes me so angry, especially because we don't even use +/- grades? I have no idea where they got that from because the system we used at A Level was something like A* - 90%, A - 80%, B - 70%, C -60%, and like you said if people are doing well they actually raise grade boundaries so less people actually achieve the top mark if everyone does well. (I know you know all of this just ranting because it makes me annoyed how our exams are apparently presented as piss easy)
I think it makes every Brit who sees that post angry and indignant that several hundred thousand people think that our education system is that simple and easy when half the grades in the list don’t even exist (like who the fuck gets + or -, it’s A or B, no pussyfooting round the mark, you suck or you don’t).
It makes everything seem like a joke when most of us try very hard to get the grades we do / did whilst at school, and how in some cases our entire grade can rely on two one hour exams and there’s nothing like extra credit to help boost grades.
